Trunk or Treat!

This past Sunday was our "Trunk or Treat" at church. Peyton loves Elmo...or "Melmo" as she calls him. Every day she likes to watch a little Elmo and play with her Sesame Street characters. I still can't believe she likes it so much. Stephen and I are getting a kick out of watching new episodes that still have the same adults on it, and that they still show the same animations. My favorite is the pinball (singing in the background...) 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 do do do and Stephen likes the Ladybug picnic.

After much consideration and searching, I decided that she could be Elmo for this year. We always dress up together as a family, so Stephen was Cookie Monster and I was Big Bird. Everyone at church was disappointed that we didn't do a trunk this year, but we want Peyton to have fun doing this for a few years...then we'll go back to giving out treats!

So, after days of playing with the costume, I decided to put the costume on Miss P. The first day was ok...the second was better...then on Friday, Peyton freaked out!!!! Tears were involved too. So I was not looking forward to Sunday. I have to admit, I bribed her...a smartie for one foot/arm etc. IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!! She kept it on, no problems at all! The hood part was a bit too large and she had a hard time seeing while riding in her stroller, so she took it off every now and then!

It's Fall...and pumpkins are here!

Hard to believe my favorite time of the year is here! I love the smells of Fall. Reminders of good ole days at high school football games, working the concession stand with Mom, and band contests on Saturdays. UT football season is here and the holidays are coming soon. My how the year is flying by!
Stephen and I decided this year would be Peyton's first year to go to a Pumpkin Patch. We met the Beans at Gentry's Farm in Franklin.

Vacation 2009

Well, it's been only 2 months since my last post. I guess I'm not too far behind! May brought us our choral concert, Mother's Day, the Bellevue Picnic, and a Memorial day weekend trip to the Torrence's house! June brought us our 6th Wedding Anniversary, Father's Day, a trip to the Thompson's lake house, and Peyton's first beach trip.

We have been blessed to find such good friends at Bellevue and were invited to go to the beach with the Rampy family! They are like family to Stephen and I, and Peyton loves their girls! Robert and Jackson Neese also joined our clans for a fun time in SeaCrest Beach near Seaside.
We had 5 fun filled days on the beach, in the pool and chilling at our little beach house.

Spring is Here!

Peyton loves being outside... When it is cold or not pretty, we have to keep the blinds up so she can look out the bay windows. This Spring has been fun, and on a pretty spring day we went on a wagon ride in the front yard, complete with flower sunglasses!!!!

Ok, so I am really far behind on my blogging... Here's an update!
On Valentine's day we went to Peyton's first Predators game! She absolutely loved seeing the players skate around and was waving at them the whole time. The only thing she didn't like was the buzzer for the goals and she didnt' really like meeting Nash after the game!

Wow, my baby girl is 1 year old!!! Hard to believe it has come so fast. It just seems like yesterday she was being placed in my arms for the first time. I know it will seem like just a few months and she will be in college... or getting married, uh! Stephen and I are so blessed to have her. She is such a little ham and definitely a gift from God. Her antics keep us in stitches! It's no surprise she is a "people person".

Peyton had a wonderful birthday on the 4th. Unfortunately I had to work in Dickson. She went to NCS that day and shared muffins with her buddies during snack time. I wanted to do something that I knew all the kiddos would eat and that didn't have icing. Mrs Kim was thankful for that :). Peyton had fun playing with her buddies and then enjoyed the night with Daddy at church.

Saturday the 7th was her party. No surprise she was the funniest girl and loved the attention. There are so many funny pictures and videos. She enjoyed being around everyone, but still wasn't that interested in opening presents. Of course she loved the tissue paper!
The funniest thing was when we opened her gift from mommy and daddy. I had bought a pottery barn chair with her name on it. I didn't think she would even know what it was or what to do with it, but she just smiled and climbed right in. She was giggling so hard she cackled!!! She then sat down and clapped and laughed till we all got cracked up. The video is hillarious as you can see!
Then on to the cake. She was very interested in it and had a blast scraping the icing off and quickly scrape it into her mouth. She LOVED it!
We had a blast with her so far and cannot wait for the next years of her life. She is a joy to us and what did we do before she was a part of our family? We are blessed...

This New Year has brought some new things for Peyton too! We visited Mawmaw and Papa for our traditional new year's dinner and she got to sit in Stephen's highchair !

Then we headed back to Nashville, and visited Stride Rite for her first pair of walking shoes! We got a cute brown and pink pair and a white sneaker type! She thinks they are fun, but still doesn't walk on her own yet... unless she is pushing her Princess toy or her highchair around the kitchen!

We also bought her big girl carseat for each of our cars. She loves being in her seat... only another month until she can face forward!!!!!

She also has started going to school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on the days I have to work. She goes at least one day when I'm off so that I can run errands that are hard to do with an almost 1 year old! Her teacher is Miss Kim and P likes her!!! Peyton has her own crib at NCS with a snowman nameplate on the wall! Her first day was not fun for her, she was not a happy girl and missed us too much. She has now been going for 2 weeks and had a good day all day today 1-14-09!

She also has been using a cup everyday at least once since before Thanksgiving. I decided to get her off the bottle completely going cold turkey and she hasn't had a bottle for almost a week! What a big girl she is now! It is hard to believe that she will be a year in less than 20 days!

So many pictures to post on here... Christmas was fun with Peyton. She loved the bows and the tissue paper, not so much her toys that day. She now loves her new toys and we can't wait for more Christmases to come!
This was a whole time of firsts... first tree, stocking, family ornament and many more! Peyton loved our Christmas trees, especially the UT tree! She was a bit confused on all the decorations and us saying, "no" more often than usual!
Peyton met the big red man for the first time on December 9th and was not happy with him. Apparently she doesn't like people with hats or with facial hair. We tried to go for a controlled environment at the church, but she wasn't having any part of it. A week later Santa came back to church on a Wednesday night and we tried again. No way... no Santa for Miss P!
Our holiday went like this: Christmas Eve morning visiting our Bank of Ripley Family, Christmas Eve lunch at Nana's (my aunt), Christmas Eve late snacks and dirty Christmas with Papa and MawMaw (stephen's parents) and Uncle David's family, Christmas morning at B's (my Mom), and Christmas dinner at Papa and Mawmaw's.
We had a busy time going from place to place, but Peyton was a sweet girl...even with a cold that eventually became CROUP! YUCK!!! Not a fun cough for her...but she was sooooooo good, even the day she had NO NAP!

Thanksgiving Day Fun

Stephen and I have started a new tradition and have had our families over to our house for dinner each Thanksgiving since we moved into our house in 2003. I enjoy cooking the whole meal and being the "hostess with the mostest" or "Lil Martha" as some refer to me!

This year was a special one being Peyton's first Turkey Day... She is just getting used to eating real food other than her baby food and it can be a challenge with eating; that is unless you're giving her Cherrios, cheese, bread or yogurt puffs. Funny, sounds like my Dad loving cheese and bread :) . I have posted some pics of all of us chilling and Miss P eating her meal! We had a wonderful time with our family and are happy that all could come and hope that there are many more Turkey Days to share.

How funny are these... Peyton sure does look like me at the same age! The only thing she needs is dark hair and bigger teeth! She doesn't have her eyebrows up but when she does it, I'm always amazed!! How cute! Hope you enjoy!

Today was a big day for Peyton. We met Daddy at work for lunch and to hand out candy. Then we went to Mom's work at CMC to hand out candy! One of the nurses decided Peyton needed her first candy, a sucker! She knew exactly what to do with it too. It was fun to see her eat the sucker all the way down to the Tootsie Roll middle. She cried when we took it away! When we got home, we took some pictures outside our house on haybales and got to share her new favorite treat with Daddy!

Well it is official! Peyton is mobile... crawling everywhere!!! She is too funny and is even trying to walk on her hands and feet instead of knees. We don't think it will be too long until she is walking.

We had a busy weekend this last one! We had card night at our house on Friday and my Mom and Aunt LaQuinta came up so that they could keep Miss P on Saturday while we went to the awful UT vs Alabama game and so that they could see her cute Halloween costume!

This past Sunday night our church had "Trunk or Treat". We always dress up and decorate our trunk as a theme with last year being the Wizard of Oz and this year, Charlotte's Web! Peyton had a cute little piggy costume so she went as Wilbur and I went as Fern the main character! We had a blast decorating our barn and she enjoyed seeing all the other kiddos dressed up. Our good friends, the Morris', even came up from Mississippi while they were on vacation to join our festivities!

We had a wonderful time and loved giving out candy to kiddos in our community. Peyton was even on the mailer sent out to every household in Bellevue! I hope to scan a picture of it later and post it!

Last week was an exciting one for Peyton. Early last week she began sitting in her big girl high chair!!!!!!!!!!! It was one my Aunt, Bonnie gave us and is very similar to the one I had!

Then on Friday the 3rd, whe went to her first football game in Dickson. Her cousin, Emily was Homecoming Queen and we dressed Miss P in their colors that are similar to those of Auburn. Peyton loved the lights and seeing the players run on the field as you can see from her first picture with Dad! She squealed with the cheerleaders too.

On Saturday, we watched a little football from home and then went to a bonfire at our friend, Keegan's house. He had the band members over along with his friends and family and they provided our entertainment. The sherrif deputy even came, but HA, there is no noise ordinance in Arlington aka tha boonies! Peyton loved the fire and snuggling in our blanket!!!!

Who knew that a basket was so much fun??? Peyton has been trying to get into my laundry basket for some time and I decided to bring her toys upstairs in a basket! She didn't know what to think about it at first, but now loves it. Such a simple thing that brings her much joy!

The Orange Family

On Saturday the 20th, Peyton's "B" came to visit and kept her while Stephen and I enjoyed a day out in Knoxville. I say "enjoyed", as we had a good time but the UT game was awful! UT really is playing bad this year.

Peyton had a good time playing with her "B" and we had a much needed day together. I can't wait for Peyton to be able to go to the games. I just hope she loves football as much as we do!

Seven months have gone by too fast...

Wow, our baby girl is 7 months and on her way to eight months!!!! The time has passed by so fast. We have enjoyed every moment of being parents and are looking forward for all the new things to come. Peyton is a champ at rolling everywhere, will sit up on her own, and is even trying to crawl. She is so cute rocking back and forth on all 4s! We now officially have a tooth too!
It is hard to believe that a half a year has come and gone. I am sad to see the baby stages going by so fast but am thankful everyday to our Lord and Savior that she is a healthy girl, growing and maturing as she should! She still enjoys a little snuggle time on mommy's days off and is learning to give "loves" as mommy says or "sweet kisses" to daddy. What a joy she is in our lives! What did we do without her? It is a wonderful thing to see her exploring her world and take in everything she sees. She is quite the nosy rosy and doesn't miss anything... any little noise or new thing coming into view! I hope to continue this blog and put some pics on here on my next day off!
